Chemical Circulation
Circulation of chemical in tube/shell side of the heat exchanger. Typical chemical used are phosphoric acid or caustic soda.

Scrubbing
Scrubbing of tubing with metal or plastic brush as a preliminary cleaning after CIP to remove loose dirt/scaling.

High Pressure water jet
High Pressure water jet spraying to thoroughly clean the tubing and remove excess dirt/scaling that remain after scrubbing.

Tube plugging
Welding damaged or leaking tubes with tube plugs to prevent mixing between fluids and pressure loss. Heat exchanger can still be used as long as 75% of the tubes are still in good condition.
